CUET UG 2026: Simpler, Faster, Flexible
BLUF: Registration for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2026 is now live at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG. The biggest update is the reduction of maximum subjects from 10 to 6 to reduce exam stress and logistical issues.
5 Major Changes in 2026
- Subject Limit: You can choose a maximum of 6 papers (aimed at reducing the exam duration to just 2 weeks).
- Cross-Stream Choice: A Science student can now appear for History (Arts) without having studied it in Class 12, provided the target university allows it.
- Hybrid Mode: Exams for high-registration subjects (English, General Test) will be Pen & Paper (OMR). Low-registration subjects remain CBT (Computer Based).
- No Normalization: Single-shift exams for major subjects mean no more confusing "percentile normalization" issues.
- Fees: Exam fees have been hiked by ₹100 per subject.
