Flying Taxis in Mumbai 2026: The eVTOL Revolution is Here
Sky-High Commute: Mumbai 2026
The dream of "The Jetsons" has landed in Mumbai. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has cleared the first commercial eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) routes.
🚁 The Route: South Bombay to Airport
What used to take 90 minutes by road now takes 12 minutes.
- Operator: Archer Aviation & InterGlobe.
- Cost: ₹3,000 per seat (comparable to a luxury Uber Black during surge pricing).
🔋 Silent and Green
Unlike helicopters, these eVTOLs are electric. They are quiet—about as loud as a dishwasher—and produce zero emissions, making them perfect for urban operations.
🏢 Vertiports
Rooftops of major parking garages in Bandra and Lower Parel have been converted into "Vertiports," acting as mini-airports with security checks and charging stations.
Beat the traffic. Fly. 🚁🇮🇳
